What’s a Dress Rehearsal?

A dress rehearsal is a “dry run” of your entire recital production a day or so prior to the actual recital performance. This gives you an opportunity to discover the venue layout (where dressing rooms, etc. are located), a feel for what it will be like to perform on stage, a last check of your costume, and also gives you an idea about how the actual program will run.

Your dress rehearsal will be held at the same place as the recital. It’s at Younts Center for the Performing Arts As you enter the main entrance you will park at the back of the building. Parking is free. Dress rehearsal runs from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We may finish a little before 9pm.

You should arrive in your costume, including tights and shoes. If you have not picked up your recital tights, we will have them at the dress rehearsal.  Have your hair in a ballet bun (medium height) with the hair accessory included with your costume.

You should also have “full stage makeup” on. This means foundation, powder and blush, and much defined eyes outlined with black or brown black eyeliner, cream shadow on arc with brown shadow on lower lid, and heavy black mascara. You may also wear false eyelashes, but this is optional for the younger dancers.

NOTE: SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPANY CHANGES, COMPANY MEMBERS ARE TO WEAR ALL BLACK WITH APPROPRIATE SHOES, HAIR IN BUN, FULL MAKEUP FOR ALL THE DRESS REHEARSAL  EXCEPT THEIR BALLET NUMBER(S) WHERE THEY SHOULD HAVE THE APPROPRIATE BALLET COSTUME .

Recital 2018

Our EIGHTH annual recital, Dance Beyond 2018, to showcase our dancers' accomplishments is scheduled to be held at Younts Center for Performing Arts, Fountain Inn, SC

A Mandatory Full Dress Rehearsal will be held at the auditorium on
June 8th, 2018 5:30pm-8:30pm

All fees (tuition, recital fees, costumes, tights, etc.) must be paid in full
to participate in the recital.

The venue is owned and operated by the Cultural Arts Foundation Fountain Inn (CAFFI) and has a continuing mission to bring arts and entertainment to the people of Fountain Inn and the surrounding communities of the Golden Strip and beyond.

You, your family and friends are welcome to experience your dancer's accomplishments! There are no ticket sales; the dancer's recital fee covers unlimited admission to the event .  The dancer will also receive a recital tee shirt and a trophy signifying the total number of years the student has danced, both at Dance Beyond and at previous studios.

Dance Beyond will provide a video service.  You will not be able to video any part of the show.  Also, please no flash photography in the auditorium during the show. Pre-sales of the Dance Beyond Recital video will be held at the dress rehearsal and at the recital from our front sales table.

All Dance Beyond students will be presented a participation trophy (for each successful year of dance completed), on stage as the finale of the show. Dance/ training years at other studios are transferable and recognized! Since this is a special occasion, we encourage dancers to bring a dress or outfit to "glam" it up for the presentation.

Dressing rooms for your dancers will be pre-assigned and posted. Parents are allowed in the dressing rooms; however, parents are not permitted backstage.

Also, no food or beverages are allowed in the auditorium. Since we are all representing Dance Beyond, we ask that you please be courteous and adhere to these policies.

Thank you so very much for all your support during the year and at our showcase! We look forward to seeing you, your family and friends there!
